VIDEO: School Repair Bill Hits the Floor; Costs to Be Carved Out of DOE Budget

Guam – Lawmakers took up Bill 437 Thursday afternoon. It proposes raising roughly $139-million dollars to pay for repairs to ALL of the island’s public schools.

How all that money would be raised was the subject of some debate as lawmakers went into the Committee of the Whole to hear from the Administration and GEDA about the funding options.

One of the major concerns was a provision requiring the debt service costs to be carved out of the already lean Guam DOE budget.
