Guam – The Fong Group of companies dedicated their new corporate office and distribution center this morning [Tuesday] in Barrigada Heights.
The group is includes several of Guam’s most popular and favorite brands, Foremost Foods, Inc., Coca-Cola Beverage (Guam), Co., Subway Restaurants, and Glimpses of Guam (Advertising and Publications).
All four companies are now located under the same roof. The company phone numbers will remain the same and the new facility is currently operational.
The 68,000 square foot facility is 60% larger than the companies’ former location in Upper Tumon and was designed and built with growth in mind, allowing for greater capacity to bring in a wider range of products for consumers. The new facility includes 20,000 square feet of office space for the headquarters and Guam-based companies, as well as 13,000 square feet of cold storage and 35,000 square feet of dry warehouse space. The Upper Tumon location is still being used for locally produced Foremost products, like ice, water, ice cream and more.
The more spacious dry warehouse area holds up to 50 containers worth of product and the cold storage can store up to 700 pallets of product. Productivity has increased in the new facility by giving Coca-Cola and Foremost more staging area, additional loading space, an organized racking system for storage, a modernized loading dock, and a centralized location for distribution.
The new facility was built by contractor Base Corp and engineer/designer EMPSCO. It includes specific sustainability features that are environmentally friendly and economically beneficial.
Rainwater is collected and used to flush all toilets, lights in the restrooms are equipped with motion sensor timers, and the parking lights all feature photocell control that are light sensitive and trigger when evening skies begin to darken. All lights feature energy-saving bulbs. Chilled and frozen products are protected by a 35 KVA backup generator, to ensure the quality is never compromised.
