Guam – A special Independence Day naturalization ceremony was held Wednesday at Guam District Court.
In all, 38 people took the oath of citizenship. They hailed from Italy, New Zealand, China, Sri Lanka the FSM and the Philippines.
Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio spoke to the new Americans about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
Immediately after the ceremony, representatives from the Guam Election Commission and the U.S. Passport Office were on hand to register the new citizens and take their applications for passports.
