Guam- All the ballots have now been printed for the General Election.
Guam Election Commission (GEC) Executive Director Maria Pangelinan says sample ballots are now available for voters and can be found online on their website.
She also says District Registration begins today [Wednesday] and they met yesterday [Tuesday] to ensure each village has a district registrar. Pangelinan notes they currently have 25 district registrars on staff.
Meanwhile, their technician Paul Huffman from Election Systems and Software will be testing the 4 tabulation machines in the next couple of days to do a final tune-up.
“All 4 machines are working” said Pangelinan. “He will be here tomorrow and Friday to give it a tune-up. We’re using it to count the ballots so it becomes a faster process. So we’re going to make sure everything is working and in order before the election.”
The test election is scheduled for November 5 at 6 p.m.. In the meantime, GEC is meeting this evening and will also discuss a change in a polling site. They will be moving the Astumbo Gym location to Liguan Elementary School because it is more comfortable for voters and precinct officials.
