VIDEO: Amigos Drop Rays 8-4 In BABL

LEO PALACE PARK-  The Chalan Pago Amigos and starting pitcher Paul Campos cooled off the red hot Rays with a 8-4 win Thursday night at Leo Palace Park in Budweiser Amateur Baseball League action.  Campos would scatter ten hits over seven innings getting great defense behind him to snap an Amigos three game losing streak.

The Rays would jump on Campos early pounding out five hits in the first inning for an early 3-0 lead.  Glenn Fernandez and Corey Paulino would lead the rally with rbi singles for the Rays.

In the bottom half of the 1st inning Rays starter Jay Santos would struggle with the wet conditions letting the Amigos back in the game walking four batters and hitting a batter without getting an out in the 1st inning before giving way to the bullpen and Corey Mantanona.  David Allan Quintanilla would cap the rally with a rbi sac fly to put the Amigos on top 4-3.

The Amigos would add another run in the third inning with Rayzor Quintanilla singling and coming into score on a James Quintanilla single extending the Amigos lead to 5-3.

Campos would settle into a rhythm and get some great defense to hold off the Rays offense.  Amigos centerfielder David Allan Quintanilla would kill a Rays rally in the 4th inning with a perfect throw to 3rd base to nail a runner.

The Rays would push a run across in the 5th inning on a Paul Pangelinan single scoring Fernandez cutting the Amigos lead to 5-4.

But the Amigos would answer again adding insurance with runs in the 5th inning and 6th inning extending their lead to 8-4.  Rayzor would add a rbi double and Aleton Mesgnon a rbi single giving the Amigos a 8-4 lead.

Campos would close out the Rays in the 7th inning striking out the last two batters to earn the win for the Amigos and Strike Zone Player of the Game.  Rayzor lead the offense going 2 for 3 with a double, rbi and run scored for the Amigos who improve to 8-7 on the season.

Billy Quenga and Pangelinan had two hits each for the Rays. The Rays snap a three game win streak and drop to 11-4 but still hold the first seed in the BABL AAA Division.
