VIDEO: Chief Economist Gary Hiles Says Guam Unemployment Rate Drops To 10.9%


Guam- Guam’s unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest level in the last three years to 10.9 percent. However, PNC reports that level is still well above the national average.

The Department of Labor Current Employment report notes that preliminary statistics for September 2012 show the number of jobs on Guam increased by 1,250. The private sector showed the most gains this quarter in the industries of service, construction, and retail trade. Average hourly earnings in the private sector did increase from $12.24 to $12.45, compared to one year ago.
