Crime of the Week: “The August 21 Burglary of Benavente Middle School” 

On August 21 at about 7:20 a.m., officers from the Dededo Precicnt Command responded to a burglary complaint at Benavente School in Dededo.  According to the police report:

A teacher from V.S.A. arrived at her classroom at about 7:00a.m. and upon entering her classroom, the teacher noted her computer that was on top of her desk was missing.  The teacher then informed school personnel about what was discovered prompting staff to conduct an assessment to the entire school. Upon completion of the school assessment, it was later discovered and reported to school officials from V.S.A. Benavente Middle School that three (3) other classrooms were broken into with misc. school supplies missing.

On September 9th at about 1220 p.m., school officials from V.S.A. Benavente Middle School reported to the Dededo Precinct Command that a staff’s car which was parked within the school parking lot, had been stolen.  The stolen vehicle was described as a 2012 Mazda Mazda 7 color white, bearing GLP#: YG3543.  The subject vehicle was later recovered on Route 3 Okkudo Road, by Dededo Precinct personnel on September 11.

The Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Guam Crime Stoppers needs the publics help relative to this crime against our public school.
