The nomination deadline has been extended until Monday, November 4 at the close of the business day. Speaker Judi Won Pat says they are 95% ready to move forward with the party election. She mentions they have locked in polling sites for all of the 19 villages on island.
However, the polling site for Hagatna, Asan, Maina and Piti will be held the legislative public hearing room. Won Pat notes 2 candidates per village will be represented and consist of one male and one female. An advertisement will be going out with a list of all the names of the candidates sometime next week. She encourages all interested democrats to run and support their party.
“Please register,” said Won Pat. “Continue to register and come out and vote. They can call me or any of the senators and find out exactly where. But we will put all that out in the newspaper. If you’re interested in running, of course, we have the packets.”
The Democratic Party Election will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m..
