Saipan – A husband and wife’s B1/B2 visas cancelled recently when they were granted Commonwealth-only worker visas at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, were reinstated by the U.S. State Department.
Grace Viloria told Saipan Tribune that she and her husband had their U.S. tourist visas reinstated and were told that the reason for their initial cancellation was an accident.
Villoria’s tourist visa is valid until March 2019, while her husband’s B1/B2 visa is valid until 2018.
The cancellation of tourist visas of CW-1 visa holders in the CNMI generated interest the last couple of months because federal agencies earlier assured that valid U.S. tourist visas won’t be cancelled while applying for or upon approval of a CW visa.
Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan’s office even said those who had their tourists visas cancelled may bring their specific issue to their attention and the office might be able to help them.
The U.S. State Department, meanwhile, clarified that CW visa holders may apply for and hold B1/B2 visas.
