Guam – The Guam Federation of Teachers Union is asking for action to be taken on their Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Port Authority of Guam.
According to GFT President Tim Fedenko the agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Port’s Board Of Directors and General Manager Joanne Brown in November of last year but still needs a final signature from the governor.
Fedenko says the Governor’s Office has told him that the contract needs to be reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office first and Federico claim’s the AGO wasn’t able to give him information on the status of the review. However Fedenko says Board Chairman Dan Tydingco recently informed him that the contract is still in the hands of General Manager Brown. Where ever the contract is, Fedenko says he’s like to see action on it so that port workers can have a voice in the workplace
GFT received recognition to represent port employees in April of 2008.
