VIDEO: GPA – $112K in Billable Revenue Lost to Blackout; Damage to Hardware Still Being Tallied

Guam – The Guam Power Authority estimates that it lost $112-thousand dollars in billable revenue during the five hour island-wide power outage on June 6th.

Spokesman Art Perez says GPA and the insurance adjusters are still tallying the physical damage to plant and equipment that was caused when a “line-fault” touched off a fire at the Dededo sub-station.

The fire caused extensive damage to switch gears and under-ground cables, but Perez said he was not yet authorized to comment on any damage estimate.

Perez also says that the cause of the line-fault that started it all may never be known because of the extent of damage. Whatever caused that line fault said Perez, was probably consumed by the fire.
