Guam – Former Police Chief and GPD Major Paul Suba officially retired this afternoon during a ceremony at the Governor’s office in Adelup.

Suba was surrounded by his family friends and fellow officers as he accepted a certificate from the Governor and his retirement badge. Suba has been with GPD for 37 years.

Governor Eddie Calvo commended him for working with the police force through both the good financial times and the austere times. Police Chief Fred Bordallo commended Suba for sacrifices he’s made throughout his career to be a police officer. Major Suba thanked the men and women he worked alongside for all these years and he thanks his family for giving him the support he needed to protect and serve the island.

“The sacrifices your families and mine and all of ours have given cannot be counted in dollar value nor can it be counted in time because it seems to me that there is no time in the love and support that they give us,” said Major Suba.

The retired major and former chief of police will now be joining G4S security where he will be Operations Director.
