VIDEO: GPD – Palacios Arrested on Robbery and Firearms Charges; 5 in All Now Accused in 4 Armed Robberies

Guam – Tumon-Tamuning Precinct Commander Lt. Ron Taitano has announced that yesterday’s [Sunday]  arrest of Joshua AR Palacios wraps up their investigation of a series of 4 armed robberies in Harmon, Tamuning and Tumon that began in August.  

Lt. Taitano credits an anonymous tip from a member of the public who called into the Dededo Precinct about 9 am Sunday morning to say that they had seen Palacios at a home in Dededo.

Officers converged on that home soon after and found Palacios hiding in a nearby wooden shack. 

On Saturday, GPD issued a wanted notice for Palacios saying he was armed and dangerous. According to Palacios’ WANTED notice [see below], a search warrant was executed at 178 East Santa Monica Avenue Friday and an un-named number of .4-caliber rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

Palacios was apprehended without incident.  Lt. Taitano says that Palacios “confessed to his involvement.”

Palacios was arrested on the following charges:

*  (3) Counts of Robbery

* (3) Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery

* (3) Counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property

* (3) Counts of Guilt Established by Complicity

* (3) Counts of Criminal Facilitation, Possession of a Firearm Without a Firearms Identification Card and Illegal Transfer of a Firearm.

 Police also arrested Jonathon Nick Santos Palacios for Hindering Apprehension. He was later Booked and Released.  

The 4 armed robberies occured at:

* Tai Sho Gameroom in Harmon on August 15

* Winner Gameroom in Tumon on October 10

* H.A. Mart in Harmon on October 11

* Golden Motel in Tamuning on October 12 

The search and arrest of  Palacios was triggered by the arrests of 4 other men last week. Lt. Taitano credits the hard work of his Safety & Security Network (SSN) for the arrests and, Taitano says, they too “confessed to their involvement in these robberies.”

They 4 men arrested prior to Palacios’ arrest Sunday are:

* 31 yr old, Denek Eugichi [aka Ervin Nekeo Otokichy], a Male, Chuukese, from Dededo. He was arrested for 4 Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, 4 Counts of Robbery, 4 Counts Possession and Use of a Deadly Weapon in the Commission of a Felony, 4 Counts of Possession of a Firearm Without a Firearm Identification, 4 Counts of Possession of a Firearm without a Firearm Registration.

* 31 yr old, Rit Eiren, Male, Chuukese, from Dededo. He was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Robbery.

* 28 yr old, David Andon, Male, Chuukese, from Dededo. He was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Robbery.

* 23 yr old, Kendal Norris McKinney, Male, Caucasian (homeless). He was arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Robbery.

Police close out investigation with apprehension of Palacios in Dededo.

On Saturday (October 21, 2012), the Guam Police Department sought the public’s assistance in locating Joshua Palacios, a suspect wanted in connection with a string of robberies that occurred in the Tumon-Tamuning-Harmon villages.

Yesterday, morning shortly before 9:00 a.m., help came in the form of an anonymous caller, who phoned into the Dededo Precinct and reported seeing Joshua Palacios at a residence in Dededo.

Officer’s from the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct’s SSN Unit and the Dededo Precinct took this information and converged on the residence and after a brief search located Palacios in a nearby wooden shack. He was arrested without incident and taken into custody. Also arrested at the scene was Jonathon Nick Santos Palacios, Male, Chamorro, Age 30, from Dededo, for Hindering Apprehension. He was later Booked and Released.

According to investigating officers Palacios confessed to his involvement. He was later Booked and Confined at the Hagatna Detention Facility on charges of: (3) Counts of Robbery, (3) Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, (3) Counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, (3) Counts of Guilt Established by Complicity, (3) Counts of Criminal Facilitation, Possession of a Firearm Without a Firearms Identification Card and Illegal Transfer of a Firearm.
