VIDEO: GPD Releases Video of BOG Armed Robbery; Asks Public for Help in Finding the Suspects

Guam – Guam police this afternoon released a video of the armed robbery that occurred at the Yigo Branch of the Bank of Guam last Thursday morning.

They are asking the public for help in identifying the 2 suspects who remain at large.

They entered the bank about 10:30am, demanded cash and fled on foot into a jungle area behind the bank toward Perez Acres.

Authorities have not disclosed how much money they got away with.

One man was wearing a black mask, the other had a red “Spider-man” type mask on.

A release from GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia describes the two suspects as follows:

Suspect #1: Male, believed to be Chamorro; standing approximately 5’10 – 6’0, muscular build weighing approximately 220lbs – 250lbs. At the time of the robbery was wearing a black mask, a green long sleeve shirt, black pants, gray gloves and was carrying a black backpack.

Suspect #2: Male, also believed to be Chamorro; standing approximately 5’6 – 5’7 medium build, weighing approximately 170lbs – 180lbs. At the time of the robbery was wearing a red mask, a black long sleeve shirt, gray pants, black shoes, gray gloves and was armed with a black handgun.

Officer Balajadia further states:

“Both the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are actively investigating this robbery, we are asking for the public’s assistance. If anyone has any information that may help in solving this case, please call the Criminal Investigation Division at 475-8552 the FBI at 472-7465, or Crime Stoppers at 472-HELP.”

“Guam Police Department would also like to encourage those who have already provided information to authorities continue calling into these numbers and to continue providing these numbers.”

“GPD and the FBI advises the both the business sector and the public to practice good robbery prevention practices and be more vigilant and aware of their surroundings while out within the public.”

YIGO – Thursday, February 6, 2014, 10:31 a.m., the Bank of Guam in Yigo was robbed at gunpoint.

The robbers, as seen in the video provided are described as:

Suspect #1: Male, believed to be Chamorro; standing approximately 5’10 – 6’0, muscular build weighing approximately 220lbs – 250lbs. At the time of the robbery was wearing a black mask, a green long sleeve shirt, black pants, gray gloves and was carrying a black backpack.

Suspect #2: Male, also believed to be Chamorro; standing approximately 5’6 – 5’7 medium build, weighing approximately 170lbs – 180lbs. At the time of the robbery was wearing a red mask, a black long sleeve shirt, gray pants, black shoes, gray gloves and was armed with a black handgun.

Entered the bank, and robbed the bank at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and then fled from the bank on foot.

Both the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are actively investigating this robbery, we are asking for the public’s assistance.
