Guam – There is an election coming up a week from this Saturday, it is the Government of Guam Board of Trustees Retirement Fund election.
The election will held at the GovGuam retirment fund building and it is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 14th.
The law requires the Guam Election Commission to conduct the election.
GEC Executive Director Maria Pangelinan says there are 4 seats being contested and there is some competition for them.
“We have 3 candidates for the retirement seats,” said Pangelinan. “We have Speaker Joe T. San Agustin, Dr. Wilfred Leon Guerrero and George Santos. For the active member seats we have 4 candidates, we have Albert Santos, we have former Senator Tony Blaz, we have James Duenas, from GPA, and we have David O’Brien from the University of Guam.”
Pangelinan says that in-office voting is underway now for those who will not be able to make it to the retirement fund headquarters in Maite on June 14th.
