VIDEO: Guam Remembers the Importance of “Love” on Valentine’s Day

Guam- In the shadow of tragedy, the spirit of love was still remembered by many island residents that took the time to mark Valentine’s Day with a special gift for their loved ones.

In Tumon, “Flowers by Tand” owner Dolores Tuncap says they’ve been working non-stop since last week Thursday preparing flower arrangements and gifts.

“Well we hope we can reach everyone, from young and old, to come home and be happy or to meet someone to make everyone happy” said Tuncap. “We’re trying our very, very best. It has been a long night. It’s like election night that nobody sleeps.”

Tuncap has owned her business for the last 37 years. She estimates they provided flower arrangements and gifts to nearly a thousand people this Valentine’s Day, most of whom called in their orders by phone.

She credits her hard working team of employees and hopes everyone found some happiness today.
