Guam –  The final 5 members of the Guam Air National Guard’s 254th Security Forces Squadron (SFS) were welcomed home last night with open arms by family and friends waiting at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport for their touchdown.

The initial 31-member team was officially activated in July 2013 and departed a month later for Al Udeid, AB, Qatar.

They were tasked to support the Air Force’s Air and Space Expeditionary Force mission in Southwest Asia.  Their tasking fell under the Air Force Central Command where the Airmen were primarily focused on the provision of base defense measures, inclusive of personnel and resource security.

They were originally scheduled to arrive back on Monday night, but their flight was delayed until Wednesday night.

The first two chalks arrived on Guam earlier this month.

There are still 4 Soldiers from the 1990th Contingency Contracting Team still deployed, as well as a number of Guam soldiers still receiving medical treatment in Hawaii following their recent deployment.
