Guam – October has been declared as Bullying Prevention Month Thursday morning aimed at preventing bullying in our community.
Students from various schools around the island joined Governor Eddie Calvo at Adelup for the proclamation signing.
During the ceremony, Governor Calvo emphasized that since violent crimes are making headlines the island should work together to stop terrible experiences happening against the youth.
Governor Calvo said, “I’m so glad to see you here. You are going to be the cheerleaders. You’re going to be out there spreading the message that bullying will not be accepted. So with that, it’s an honor and a please to be here this morning and I look forward to signing this proclamation.”
The goal of the Bullying Prevention Month is to raise awareness and encourage all youth and the community to unite against bullying. Activities and events are planned throughout the month including an Anti-Bullying WAVE and a Unity Day.
