VIDEO: Proposed GovGuam Benefit Cuts Will Need the Nod of Legislature That Approved Them

172

Guam – Many of the GovGuam benifit cuts suggested by the “Spending Cuts Task Force” will need the approval of a Legislature that has voted for the costly benifits over the years.

Leave sharing, lump sum payouts,  non-productive pay for firemen;  the list reads like a index of  recent OPA audits on wasteful GovGuam spending.

But to achieve the $43 million in cuts the Governor wants, while minimizing the need for layoffs, the Administation says benifits for GovGuam employees will have to be reduced first, layoffs second.
