Guam – The people of Humatak would like to invite everyone to the Discovery Day at Humatak Bay this weekend Feb 28 – March 3 and next weekend March 7 – 9.
This year’s feature is the Heritage Walking Tour in the village of Humatak.
Our Heritage Youth will be docents at six historic sites in Humatak village.
These docents or guides will be welcoming visitors to their respective sites that they’ve studied, explaining the history of their respective sites.
Senator Tommy Morrison said, “This is a great day for Guam not only for our residents but this is an opportunity to educate our visitors, educate our military partners, and importantly, an opportunity to elevate that importance for our children to be educated in what surrounds us and what makes Guam special. As we’ve seen in the heritage tours, I’ve learned so much from them today because of the education that is provided to them.”
The Heritage Youth Docents will be at their respective sites from 10:00am to 3:30pm Saturday – Monday, March 1-3, and the following weekend Saturday & Sunday March 8-9.
A theatrical of the landing of Magellan will also be presented on Sunday, March 2, Monday, March 3, and next week Sunday, March 9 1:00pm. Lots of food and fun for the family. A fireworks display at Humatak Bay is schedule for Sunday, March 2 at 7:15pm.
