Guam- Voter registration for the September 1 Primary Election officially ended yesterday [Wednesday].
According to Guam Election Commission (GEC) Executive Director Maria Pangelinan, staff worked over 14 hours yesterday to collect all the completed registration forms from district registrars. As of last week, the voter count was at 47, 900. However, she mentions they won’t have the final count of all registered voters until Saturday.
“We are working on Saturday” said Pangelinan. “ We will be able to generate a number and we will be able to finalize a voter list to be sent out to all the precincts.”
Pangelinan also mentions ballots are packed and ready to go to the precincts. She adds during the Primary Election, a Decolonization Registrar will be planted in each district to register any native Chamorro inhabitants.
