Guam – The Guam Memorial Hospital will now be able to transport patients needing a heart monitor more smoothly now that they have received two new cardiac monitors valued at $15,000.
The monitors were donated by Takecare/FHP to the hospital’s volunteers association. The specialized cardiac transport monitors are needed to provide heart and oxygen monitoring for patients who need off-island care.
Hospital unit supervisor Liezl Concepcion says the new heart monitors will assist nurses who accompany patients off-island in their safe transport.
She notes that the hospital was previously using older, bulky equipment that was heavy to haul around.
Takecare-FHP was a leading sponsor of the GHMA Volunteers Association charity ball held last year.
