Guam – Even after months of returning from deployment, Task Force Guam Commander Lieutenant Colonel Michael Tougher still talks highly about his soldiers.
Tougher was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Guam meeting this afternoon.
He spoke about the Guam National Guard’s largest deployment in history where 600 soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment left for Afghanistan last year. Lt. Colonel Tougher explained the events that occurred during deployment and the accomplishements of his soldiers.
He said, “I think more than talking about the deployment and what happened, I’ll talk about the events that occurred but also how well our soldiers did. They’re from the community. They have brothers, sisters, wives and so really it’s an opportunity to remind the community that we have a great island, a great population and that’s something we should be proud of.”
Lt. Colonel Tougher said any chance he gets, he will brag about his great soldiers.
