VIDEO: Task Force Guam Sends Liberation Day Shoutouts From Afghanistan

Guam- Although they could not be here to partake in Guam’s 69th Liberation Day festivities because of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan, the Guam National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment still shares its liberation spirit with families and friends.

As Task Force Guam, several members have sent special video messages for family and friends on island. They are part of the nearly 600 Guam Guard soldiers that are deployed to Afghanistan until the early part of 2014.

In a recent interview with PNC, Lt. Colonel Mike Tougher says Task Force Guam reached various mission milestones during its deployment so far. He also says soldiers are doing good work completing over 3,000 missions and covering over 25,000 miles in less than 3 months.

Guam National Guard Spokesman Captain Ken Ola mentions more video shout outs are being sent in the coming days. The first round of messages are from soldiers at Forward Operating Base Kunduz, Camp Spann and Camp Eggers.
