VIDEO: U.S. Attorney’s Office on Guam Commemorates 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

Guam – The U.S. Attorney’s  Office held a special  commemoration ceremony  Wednesday to mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Chief Judges of the District and Superior court’s joined local and federal officials,  as well as members of the Guam Legislature for the event.

U.S. Attorney Alicia Limtiaco spoke about the on-going importance of the historic federal legislation.

The Civil Rights act of 1964 ended legal segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion,  sex or national origin.
