The University of Guam, together with the Governor’s Office, held a virtual proclamation signing Wednesday afternoon and declared March as Charter Month.
At the virtual event, UOG President Dr. Thomas Krise mentioned the university’s latest accomplishments, including their COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
“The UOG Vaccination Center at the Fieldhouse has a great partnership with DPHSS and with the Guam National Guard. We also have the news of the School of Education re-accreditation for 7 years. We have an article on the great UOG Press’ effort to stimulate more literary output, more study of our region, and language revitalization. And to top it all, we have 4 Truman Scholarship finalists which means little UOG has 2% of all the finalists of the Truman scholarship in the whole of the United States,” Krise said.
Krise also talked about upcoming events for Charter Month starting with the Presidential lecture on March 4 at 6 pm featuring Atty. Julian Aguon who will be talking about his book “The Properties of Perpetual Light.”
UOG’s Main Charter Day Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 9th from 9-10 am. The ceremony can be viewed on the university’s Facebook Page.
