Typhoon Warning Now in Effect for Guam & CNMI

Typhoon Vongfong is expected to pass through the Southern Marianas on Monday

Guam - Typhoon Vongfong is still headed towards the Marianas and is expected to strengthen in the next couple of days, according to the 5am advisory from the National Weather Service.

A typhoon warning is now in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. As of 4am Sunday Vongfong was located near latitude 11.9 degrees north and longitude 151.6 degrees east. It was moving northwest at 17mph.

That forecast track would bring Vongfong through the Southern Marianas on Monday. Maximum sustained winds are currently 75mph but Vongfong is expected to intensify according the NWS.
