Guam – Emergency water and power outages have been declared for portions of central Guam today [Wednesday].
This morning, the Guam Power Authority blamed a downed power line for an outage that is effecting Hagatna through the Hagatna swamp area, up Route 4 through Afame, Ordot/Chalan Pago, Maimai Road to DOC, to Route 10 and the intersection of Routes 10 and 15.
As of 1:30, GPA Spokesman Art Perez said crews were still working on fixing the downed line on MaiMai Road, but most areas were fully restored and full power restoration was expected before 3 pm.
reports that a line crew has been dispatched to repair the downed line in MaiMai. The restoration time was not known as of this posting.
Meanwhile, the Guam Waterworks Authority says a private contractor sliced through a water main in the Chalan Pago area.
And they have declared an emergency outage as well that is effecting many of the same customers who are without power. The specific areas effected are the Department of Corrections to the intersection of Route 4. And Maimai Rd to Pago Bay, in Chalan Pago.
Restoration is not expected until 6 pm this evening [Wednesday].
