Guam – GWA announces a water outage affecting the villages of Santa Rita and Agat on Friday, August 13th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A Navy contractor will be replacing meter valve in the area.

GWA Spokeswoman Heidi Bellendorf says the Navy will be shutting off  GWA’s water supply in the area at 8am, but she believes there is enough water in GWA’s reservior tanks to last until about 5pm Friday afternoon, so the outage should only last about 5 hours.

“We expect that water service will be maintained to our customers until about 5:00 p.m. that day,” said Heidi Ballendorf spokesperson for GWA. “Our reservoirs which service Santa Rita and Agat are expected to meet demand until about 5:00 p.m. after which time parts of Santa Rita and Agat may water service interruption until 10:00 p.m. that evening”.

In the meantime GWA does ask the public to conserve water leading up to the Friday outage when possible.
