GWA Cuts-Off Water Service to Veterans Cemetary & Veterans Office

Guam – The Veterans Cemetary and the Office of Veterans Affairs has been without water for about a week now.

According to Veterans affairs director Fred Gofigan, GWA is holding his office hostage until they pay off an outstanding water bill at the veteran’s cemetery. the veteran’s cemetery owes nearly 60 thousand dollars to the Guam Waterworks Authority. Gofigan says the bill is due to a water leak on the cemetery grounds.

“There was a major leak here that was undetected and we finally located it and it wasn’t on the surface couldn’t be seen at all until we listened to the gutters and we tracked where the water was flowing,” said Gofigan.

Gofigan adds he’s working on getting money from the governors office to pay off the bill.
