Guam – A hotel at LeoPalace Resort was evacuated on Saturday after a fire broke out inside an in-house eatery. Three Guam Fire Dept. vehicles were dispatched to the scene at Hotel Belvedere, including a large fire truck. The fire was isolated to the hotel’s Iki Japanese Restaurant.

GFD spokesman Kevin Reilly confirmed a “confined fire” at the Belvedere. “Units responded to LeoPalace for a reported fire,” he texted. “Fire was confined to one area, however, the Belvedere Hotel was evacuated for safety reasons.”

Reilly said the blaze was under control by 1:08 p.m. No injuries were reported. LeoPalace Human Resources Director Tina Acquiningoc said safety and security are of utmost priority at the resort and thanked GFD for its immediate response and swift decisiveness in containing the fire.
