The WestCare Pacific Islands Sunsational program is back and ready for you to join them.
PNC’s Althea Engman has the details on this story…
Starting June 27th until July 1st, WestCare Pacific Islands will be hosting a free one-week summer camp that is filled with youth enrichment programs for children between the ages of 11 –14 years old over at the Astumbo Gym in Dededo, from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
The program will give the island’s youth an opportunity to gain skills to cope with peer pressure, build healthy relationships, and increase their self-esteem.
The 5 days are full of activities that will increase the youth’s capacity to make positive choices, become leaders in the island’s community, and engage in prosocial activities.
And at the end of the program, a mentorship program will be open for the kids to participate in.
WestCare Pacific will also provide light refreshments and lunch for participants, and are currently exploring ideas of a new program to follow suit after this one.
The Last day to register is Friday, June 17. There are 45 slots available for kids to sign up as well as 5 peer mentor slots.
