Bank of Guam

Bank of Guam announces that its Saipan and Tinian branches in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) remain closed.  Bank of Guam Saipan and Tinian branches reopen tomorrow, October 9, 2019. The BOG’s Guam branches will reopen by 11 a.m. today, closing at 4 p.m. The bank’s Rota branch reopens today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Center hours resume at 10 a.m. this morning.

Guam Regional Medical City

All GRMC employees who are scheduled to work today are asked to report for their shift.
Clinic appointments for 1 p.m. onward will proceed as scheduled. Patients will be contacted for rescheduling of appointments canceled due to Super Typhoon Hagibis.

Guam SDA Clinic

The SDA clinic reopened at 1 p.m. today. All staff are requested to report to work by noon.

U.S. Postal Service

The U.S. Postal Service announced the following office closures due to Super Typhoon Hagibis for Tuesday, Oct 8: The Saipan Post Office will be closed; there will be no mail delivery or pickup from its blue collection boxes or mail slots. The Postal Service’s decisions regarding the resumption of services will be guided by information and directives issued by local public safety officials.

No Masses at Catholic Churches

The faithful are reminded that Mass will not be celebrated at Guam’s Catholic churches while the island remains in typhoon Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 and until the official all-clear signal is given.

Naval Base Guam

Naval Base Guam (NBG) remains in COR 3 as Super Typhoon Hagibis moves away from the island. DoDEA schools will remain closed for students. Staff are to report to work within two hours of their normal duty day start. Opening will be delayed to 9 a.m. for NBG services/facilities to include the Visitor Control Center and MWR facilities, with the exception of the Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC will open at 8 a.m. The NBG back gate will be closed. The main gate inbound lane will be reduced to two lanes from three lanes. Expect delays at the gate and plan accordingly. Orote Commissary will be closed per normal business hours. NEX will open for normal operations. All beaches on NBG will remain CLOSED until further notice. Besides the above changes, it will be normal base operations. If you are unsure of your report time, contact your supervisor directly.

University of Guam

The University of Guam has reopened, and classes will resume this afternoon beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Guam Community College

Guam Community College classes resume as regularly scheduled beginning at noon Tuesday, Oct. 8. Check MyGCC announcements or follow GCC on Social Media (@GuamCC).

Guam Legislature

I Liheslaturan Guahan resumed normal operations today, October 8, 2019 beginning at 10 am.

Harvest Christian Academy

Harvest will be closed on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. All school-related activities will be canceled as well. They will post updates about their school reopening via KHMG 88.1, their website, hcaguam.org, or the HCA Facebook page.

GovGuam

All GovGuam offices re-open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Catholic Schools

Catholic schools cancel classes on Tuesday, Oct. 8 as island enters Condition of Readiness (COR) 2. With the island being placed in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 tonight, classes will be canceled at all Catholic schools on Guam tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 because of Supertyphoon Hagibis. Parents and guardians of all students attending Catholic schools, please monitor your radios and other media sources for updates and announcements.

United Airlines

Due to inclement weather from Super Typhoon Hagibis, United Airlines is expecting schedule changes for flights to and from A. B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam and Saipan International Airport on Tuesday, Oct. 8. United urges its customers to check the latest status of their flights at united.com or by calling United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331).

Judiciary of Guam

The Judiciary of Guam announced that with the declaration of Condition of Readiness 4
(COR4) by the Governor of Guam, the Administrator of the Courts has ordered the Guam
Judicial Center and the Northern Court Satellite to re-open today for regular government
business at 1 p.m.
Court management and designated staff continue to conduct damage assessments to court facilities in Hagåtña and Dededo. There was no reported damage to Judiciary facilities from the passage of Typhoon Hagibis through our area of the Mariana Islands.
All Judiciary employees have been directed to report to work at 12 p.m. The process to reschedule all hearings, jury trials, and jury selection proceedings will be prioritized by the Superior Court of Guam Clerk of Court, in consultation with judicial
officers. Jurors are advised to check the Judiciary of Guam’s jury recording system after 5 p.m. on Tuesday for their next jury instructions.

Community First Federal Credit Union

Due to the approaching Typhoon Hagibis, please be advised of the following for Community First Guam Federal Credit Union: Should COR2 be declared Monday night or Tuesday morning, all Community First member service centers will be CLOSED on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 and will resume operations when conditions permit.
