The battle of undefeated U13 division teams in the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League Fall 2018 season ended in a stalemate as the Wings FC and Guam Shipyard Wolverines settled for a 3-3 draw Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

With a 1-1 score at halftime, the Wings FC found the team rhythm to pull away from the Wolverines, with unanswered goals from Gavin Baker and Rintaro Nishioka to start the first part of the deciding half for a 3-1 lead.

With just five minutes left in the contest, a goal from Timothy Hutapea helped the Wolverines claw back into the match, and three minutes later, Kyler Alcantara notched the eventual game-tying goal, forcing last season’s premiership and Youth Cup winners Wings to settle for the 3-3 draw.

Raif Sablan scored the lone Wings’ goal in the first half and Alcantara scored the Wolverines’ first-half goal. With the draw, both teams are 2-0-1 for the season through three weeks.

In other U13 elite matches, the ASC Trust Islanders blanked a shorthanded Quality Distributors team 7-0 with four goals from Brock Larsen and one each from Jason Palomares, Adriel Gutierrez, and Arthur Manglona. Both the Islanders and Quality are 1-2 so far for the season.

Community First/Days Inn Dededo Soccer Club picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Bank of Guam Strykers. Zaven Piolo led all scorers with a pair of goals and teammate Shuntaro Suzuki also scored. Peyton Blair scored the Strykers’ lone goal in the 33rd minute. Both teams are 1-2 for the season.
