As reported, on Saturday, February 20, 2021, traffic investigators assigned to GPD’S Highway Patrol Division investigated a fatal two-auto crash that occurred on Route 16 Army Drive, by US Army Pedro L. Aguon Street in Barrigada.
Preliminary reports suggest that a silver Lexus ES3000 was traveling southbound in the inner lane and collided with a gray Kia Sportage, as the Kia entered Route 16 from US Army Pedro L. Aguon Street.
As a result of the crash, 58-year-old Jiann-Horng Chen was transported to the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. This case was kept open.
On Thursday, April 8, 2021, traffic investigators conducted a follow-up investigation and met with the operator of the Kia Sportage, identified as 34-year-old Jennifer Marie Magday Takai.
Jennifer Marie Magday Takai was later arrested for the following offenses:
- Vehicular Homicide
- Vehicle Must Stop Before Entering Thru Highway and
- Child Restraint
She was subsequently booked and released. This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
