Woman Faces Up to 5 Years for Causing Fatal Car Crash

A woman faces up to 5 years in prison for causing a fatal car crash.

Charity Alex pled No Contest to Negligent Homicide as a Third Degree Felony at a hearing held by Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena III.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, Alex faces up to five years in jail and is scheduled to be sentenced by the court in early January.

The OAG says that in 2019, Alex fell asleep behind the wheel and collided head on with another vehicle which lead to the death of the other driver.

The OAG said that there was no evidence that Alex was intoxicated or impaired.

Initially Alex was charged with Vehicular Homicide as a Second Degree Felony and Imprudent Driving as a violation.
