Yona Woman Arrested in Connection With Purse Theft at Mangilao Store


Guam – Guam Police have arrested 35 year old Redina J. Perez of Yona in connection with the theft of a purse from the G-Square fish store in Mangilao.

GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia repots thatthe theft occured about 10:30 am Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Hagatna Precinct Command responded to the report at G-Square  where the victim told Officers that a customer came into the store and asked for the employee to come back to the rear of the store where they needed assistance.

In the meantime, Officer Balajadia reports that 2 minors who came in with the customer hung out at the front of the store.

Moments later the victim noticed the 2 minors running out the store towards a vehicle in the parking lot. The customer purchased some items and then left the store. 

After the customer left, Balajadia states is when the victim noticed her purse was missing and called the police.

A description was given of the suspect vehicle and the three suspects and less than an hour later police pulled the vehicle pullover on Route 10 by Wendys Restaurant in Barrigada.

Inside the vehicle were the 3 suspects as well as a 3-year-old and an eight month old baby. The stolen purse was also found inside the vehicle.

Perez has been booked and confined on charges of  Conspiracy to Commit Theft, Theft by Receiving, Child Abuse, Jurisdiction Over an Adult, and Destroying Evidence.

The 2 suspects, a 16-year old girl and another 13-year old girl female have been given notice to appear at the Juvenile Investigations Section, at a later date.
